Our goal is to be the best used bookstore in the County. We do this by providing a comfortable place for customers to spend some time and friendly and knowledgeable staff to provide recommendations and customer service
For years I dreamed of one day opening a bookstore, but I went to school, became a nurse and spent over 20 years working in a doctors office. In 1987, I opened my store with fewer than 8,000 books on the shelves. Today, Nan’s Pre-Owned Books has over 55,000 books covering a wide range from casual fiction to great philosophers. At Nan’s, we pride ourselves in finding the perfect book for every customer.
KristiHi I’m Kristi, Nan’s daughter. I have been working at the store for 15 years now, and my job is to do whatever my mother tells me to do. I mostly enjoy reading mysteries, but enjoy other books as well. I look forward to helping you!
KassiKassi is the third generation to be working at Nan’s and is currently attending Allan Hancock College. She has a passion for art and is planning to become an Elementary School teacher. She likes to read memoirs and sci-fi/fantasy.
Sue has worked at Nan’s Pre-Owned Books for over 4 years. She is a retired accountant who has always been an avid book reader. She likes biographies and memoirs, historical novels, light romance and mysteries.
Kallie The Cat
I’m Kallie and I’m the resident cat at Nan’s Pre-Owned Bookstore. It’s my job to follow customers around until they pet me. One of my goals in life is to see how much I can irritate the store employees by sleeping on the records box. It’s good to remind them who is in charge. I may be a rescue kitty, but now I am well loved by most everyone I meet. Although some people think I might be overweight, they are mistaken. I’m just fluffy in all the right places.
